How to use the Patch Converter tool

Posted in Hardcore Kicks VSTi 2.x

The Patch converter tool allow to import Hardcore Kicks VSTi 1 patches. To use this tool, the patch should be created from version 1.6 and above.

Conversion of a patch

First open Patch converter tool, then open an Hardcore Kicks VSTi 1 patch. The patch is a single program; the tool does not support the convertion of an entire bank. If you want to convert a bank, you should save as single patch each program.

When you convert a patch that use a bundled wave, you should just save the converted patch.

If correct, click ok and save the converted patch.

If the patch use a custom wave, the complete path to the file is saved into the preset file. So, make sure that the wav file is present in that place of the disk. If a custom waves is recognized the tool will display the convertion option.

In that case a custom wave as been recognized. By clicking ok, the path will be taken and copied to the Hardcore Kicks VSTi 2 Bank as Custom_WaveXXXXX where X is a random number. If you do not copy the original wave the patch will not use the old wave file and conversion fails.
After this step, save the new patch.

Custom wave sounds different

When the origin patch cotains a custom wave, the tool copy the original wave to the Hardcore Kicks VSTi 2 bank. If some changes to the wave as been introduced by the converter, you can copy the original wave to the Hardcore Kicks VSTi 2 Bank (Documents\Hardcore Kicks VSTi 2\Waves\) and replace the one introduced with the importer. Then overwrite the custom wave or change the reference wave in Hardcore Kicks VSTi 2 and saving the patch.

Converted patch!
